Carlos Castillo is a graduate of the Grenoble’s UPMF with a Bachelor in Economics (2004) and holds a Masters in Finance from the Grenoble’s IAE (2006). He focused on quantitative topics (Econometrics, financial engineering) with a good programming background (VBA, R, C/C++, Scilab).

During his graduation year he joined LFP (now La Française AM, 60 billion AUM) , an independent Asset Management Company in Paris, as a Front Office analyst/developer, where he could build VBA/Excel/Access/SQL decision making tools for various asset class managers : volatility arbitrage, convertible bonds, fixed Income , derivatives, equities, etc. He also worked on the integration of external applications (Bloomberg, Factset, MonisXL) and improved the interoperability of Front Office applications by generalizing the implementation of APIs.

He then joined Murex (2011) , a famous technology solution provider for financial institutions, where he worked as Business Analyst on the Fixed Income product evolution team and also in the FlexTeam,

contributing to the development of the API that allows customers to integrate smoothly their own model in the MX core application.

In 2013, he started to work as a consultant for various prestigious institutions (AXA-IM, JP Morgan, Banque Pictet, Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch) where he could bring both his programming skills and business expertise. Integration of top vendor solutions, Rapid Application Development in Excel/VBA/SQL, Business Analysis on Compliance, Trading and Risk Management topics.

Since 2015, he is qualified as a Professional Risk Manager (“PRM”) from the Professional Risk Managers International Association (“PRIMIA”). Since 2017, he works in a Hedge Fund in Geneva where he works on Business Intelligence topics.

In his free time, he plays music (Guitar, Piano) and likes to discover and learn new technologies.
